UPLB just celebrated its 89th Loyalty Day and Alumni homecoming last Oct. 10, 2007, Wednesday! DL Umali, Baker Hall and the Carillon Tower were clad like I haven't seen before. The Day started with a looooooong parade where numerous organizations participated, walking under the heat of the blazing sun just to show their utmost support for the university. After the parade was the program that was opened with the song Isang Daan (the winning song in the 19.09 UPLB Songfest) and the UPLB hymn which was later followed by some sort of 'interpretative' dance competition open for all organizations within LB I think. Many organizations participated in the competition and each one of them were very competitive. This became some sort of appetizer of the day. One of the much awaited events of the day I think was the Silent Drill Performance of the PMA. It was excellent and as far as I can remember it was the batch BAGHAWI (BAGong HAlaW ng Lahi) graduating this yr 2008 who performed. The day continued with some more programs I wasn't able to witness, until finally its evening. Many people strolled along the park and the grandstand and waited for the fireworks display that would 'close' the evening of the 89th UPLB Loyalty Day -and we rummies were one of them!yeah That evening before anything else, we admired and appreciated the impressive beauty of the Carillon Tower and the Fertility Tree...as it was 'lighted' as I've never seen before (in my whole stay in eLBi i guess). Then the fireworks. And finally the day ends... looking forward to more years of success and loyalty... =D
